Description:
The Hansa Veena is a new musical instrument developed by none other then Ravi Shankar in 7th of April, 2000. The development of the hansa veena was undertaken by Vishan Das, M/S Rikhi Ram and Sons of Delhi who under a collaborative effort. Not unlike the Chatturangui or Mohan Veena this instrument possesses similar characteristics in tuning, range and tone. This instrument has 5 playing strings and 13 sympathetic strings. The Hansa veena is also played with a slide. One of the main exponents of this instrument is Pandit Barunkumar Pal.
