Description: The selingup is a small short length thin diameter light weight flute. It is played by the Kenya / Kayan people in the Malaysian side of Borneo. The selingup is played by both men and women. Once the selingup was regarded as a sacred instrument it was played during funerary rights, ceremonies and courtship. The selingup is capable of playing two octaves.
