In Malaysia: The suling can be found as a 3 holed flute played by the Kenya-Kayan or Dayak peoples in Borneo. There are both three hole and six hole versions of this flute in which they both sport the same feature which is a ring around the notch that serves as the fipple of the flute. Often these flutes are hand carved of bamboo and they are ornamental.
