Description:
This type of tanbur is actually a form of "waisted rebab" where it
lacks the horns although has a skin soundboard. Unlike the counterparts
to this type of tanbur it has couple distinct features in its
construction. Including a fretless neck and seven strings. A piece of
animal hide is stretched over the body creating the acoustic chamber.
Where the neck meets the body there are small hand drilled sound holes
are located. A moveable bridge is set underneath the strings on top of
the animal hide.
